Slides – Chapter 1

The future of Nigeria depends on good utilisation of the contents of this book

The real change Nigeria needs is simple, what we need is the courage to execute what is needed. There can be no other way. As a nation, we can continue to keep the nation and the citizens backwards through insincere policies and programs. But when we are truly ready, here you can take the content and mould a living charter for our great nation.

We all know many people who have put in their efforts as they labour to bring to bear the dream nation. Many times the labour seems not to yield the anticipated result. The reason is that we often work in isolation. Coming together is the answer.

Together, we have the power to make the change.

We are set to raise individuals to become the change. Stop looking at help from far away end. You have the power to make changes at your level.

Here is the certificate of distinction in a World Bank course. This program further inspired me to bring forth the book as it is today. The assessors believed that the concept in the book possesses the capacity to bring transformation to a Third World country.

If there is going to be a change in Nigeria, you will be a critical factor and a stakeholder. You are important in the new emerging Nigeria.

The leaders and the citizens came to find themselves in the present cesspool of a maze handed over by the colonial master. Before we can move forward, we must go back to the foundation as we redesign the nation as it would support the development and progress of the land.

It’s time we begin to engage the citizens in the redesigning of the country they would want to live in constructively. The citizens should become actors in the creation of their dreamland.

Until there is equity in the distribution of the dividend of governance, we may stay very long in the present hellhole of bad governance.

When citizens begin to think that there is the possibility of free money, they become adversarial to the hope of a new Nigeria. Give them the opportunity, they will plunder and greedily eat the best of the land.

Let everyone begin to manage his estate, then we would see progress. On the other end, if someone thinks he can feast on the labour of others he will become indolent and the hard-working person too will grow weary.

Simply put, let everyone have a fair share of his resources. Without this, peace may be a lost treasure in our country.
